Problem
CCS 2.21 is difficult to start-up in Windows 7.
- When trying to start it up normally from a desktop shortcut or startup menu, this old CCS program will start up as a background process.
- Attempts at running it as an Administrator met with no success.
- Also tried Troubleshooting Compatibility and running it in different compatibility modes with no success.
Solution
After all this, the only way to reliably start up CCS 2.21 in Windows 7 appears to be the following:
1) Run “Code Composer Studio Setup” program.
2) Get “Import Configuration” modal dialog when starting it. Close Dialog. Note: can disable this modal dialog.
3) Exit program. Will get “Start Code Composer Studio on exit?” dialog when exiting. Select Yes.
