Photoshop Examples

26. November 2011

I’ll add examples as I do them.  I won’t do any tutorials – there are plenty of them out there on the web.  I’m using Photoshop CS4 Extended.

Neon Light Sign

Had this Neon Light Photoshop example on front page for a while.

How example was created in Photoshop:

The neon light effect is created with a white shape or text surrounded by inner and outer blue glow.

The background is a brick image with a black layer over it.  The black layer has a mask over it.

Polaroid Picture on Bulletin Board

Background Layer - Find a cork background for the bulletin board.

Picture Layer - Add the picture image in layer above background.  Size picture.  For picture image, select Blending Options and add a 1px Gray Stroke.  This gives an edge to the picture.

Polaroid Layer - Use Rectangle Tool  to create white rectangle the size of the edging in the polaroid.  Leave more space on the bottom.  Move behind picture layer. Select Blending Options and add 5 px Drop Shadow.  This gives the polaroid depth.

Label Layer – Use the Text Tool to create the Polaroid label.  I used Segoe Script font here to look like handwriting.

Gold Medallion Award

AwardMedallionGold

Saw a lot of medallions for sale on the web.  Created this easily in Photoshop.

Used Custom Shape Tool … use Seal shape for outer edge.

Circles for inner sections.  Use Gradient Overlay to get Gold metallic appearance.

For letters use Warped Text and then Contour to give it raised appearance.
